By Emmanuel Mendy, Gainako News<\/a><\/p>\nBansang Hospital and Foni Agency for Rural Development (FARD) on Tuesday 17th October 2020, received a Coronavirus relief package from ADx Foundation, the package that consist of medical equipment was handed over by The Gambia Red Cross Society on behalf of ADx.\u00a0Foundation, the handing over took place at the Red Cross office, Westfield.<\/p>\n
The equipment are ; Healgen AB rapid test kits, Humaisis AB rapid test kits, NewGene rapid test kits, Bi-flow Oxygen mask, Oximeters, large and medium gloves, Pediatric Oxygen masks, Chin non-rebreather masks, Oxygen masks, Pap smear kits and Lovenox. Alhasan Senghore Secretary General of the Red Cross Society says this equipment are \u201cimportant in terms of dealing with the pandemic\u201d and they are \u201ccost effective and time for getting the test done is shorter.\u201d<\/p>\n
The beneficiaries to the Covid-19 relief package are; Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital, Bwiam Hospital (via FARD), Bansang Hospital, Farafenni Hospital and Kaur Hospital however only Bansang Hospital and FARD were available at the time of the coverage.<\/p>\n
Former Chief of Defense Staff and Chairperson of Foni Agency for Rural Development, Lang Tombong Tamba says the equipment will be delivered to Bwiam Hospital where it is going to benefit everyone including people beyond Foni, \u201cCertainly it will be beneficial to the communities not only from Foni but Bwiam General Hospital attends to patients from the neighboring Cassamance and the whole of Foni\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He further stated that even people from Kiang and Badibu comes for treatment at Bwiam Hospital therefore the equipment is beneficial to everyone. He extended gratitude to the donors and said \u201cIf all those in position to help will follow the footstep of this NGO I think humanity is bound benefit greatly.\u201d<\/p>\n
Burama Badjie, Administrator of Bansang Hospital said the relief package mean a lot the hospital because \u201c it will help improve on services, especially when there are lots of patients on oxygen at the same time\u201d. He hope the package will benefit the entire area population of the hospital as they strive to overcome the Coronavirus. #<\/p>\n
He emphasized that \u201cthe oxygen mask will provide high flow oxygen, to Covid-19 patients when ever they need it.\u201d \u201cI think this relief pack will go a long way in complementing the efforts to better health service
\ndelivery. Health is everyone\u2019s business. Investing on health means one is contributing to National deployment. I thing ADx Foundation is greatly contributing to National Development. I will Encourage them not to relent\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n
